We are looking for a postoctoral fellow to work on banana bunchy top virus (BBTV), a multipartite ssDNA virus of the family Nanoviridae. In a collaborative project of INRA (France), CIRAD (France) and IITA (Nigeria), we investigate virus replication, plant defense-viral counterdefense mechanisms and the role of mobile small RNAs in plant-virus-insect vector interactions, making use of agro-infectious partial dimer clones of BBTV and virus transmission by the banana aphid Pentalonia nigronervosa.
The postdoc position at the CIRAD-INRA-SupAgro joint research unit BGPI (http://umr-bgpi.cirad.fr/index-uk.htm) in Montpellier (France) is available from March for 10 months with possible extension in 2020.
