We are reaching out to invite PMF students to take part in Delta 2026, the first international applied-mathematics competition for university students. The competition will take place April 10-12, 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia (Hotel Westin). The 2026 theme is Artificial Intelligence.
Delta is structured as a two-day in-person competition preceded by optional expert lectures (April 7-10). On Day 1, teams of 4 students compete in three proof-based mathematical rounds that build a coherent theoretical narrative. On Day 2, teams tackle a real-world optimization problem, requiring algorithmic design, mathematical modelling, and implementation. The format deliberately combines deep mathematical reasoning with engineering execution.
Participation is free of charge. Selected teams will be provided with accommodation during the in-person competition (April 10-12). The total prize pool is €10,000.
