Elective courses

Elective subjects from other study programmes of the same or other constituent parts of the University or of other universities shall be enrolled in on the basis of agreement, recommendations or guidance of the Study Advisor and/or mentor, and shall depend on the research theme. The objective shall be to achieve more profound knowledge of the research theme and the methodology and research technique that shall be necessary, and to foster interdisciplinarity and a broader insight. The selection of elective subjects shall be in keeping with the emphasised individual approach to the advancement of each individual candidate.

According to the Doctoral Study Regulations of the University of Zagreb (2010), teaching in the doctoral study programme shall be open to all the doctoral students of the University of Zagreb.

For the requirement of doctoral study and according to the Resolution of the University Senate in Zagreb of May 13, 2011 (para 1), it shall be possible for doctoral students of the University of Zagreb or of its constituent parts to attend lectures and sit for exams in individual courses of doctoral study at the University or other constituent parts of the University of Zagreb without paying additional fees, taking into account the capacities of the individual study programmes.
